21 Ago The main difficulties when translating clinical trials are deadlines
Okomeds is your preferred specialised translation agency for your needs in life sciences translation. Accurate and global. We talk to members of our team about translating clinical trials, who give us insights about their daily challenges and discoveries.
1. What are the major difficulties in translating clinical trials?
The main difficulties when translating clinical trials are deadlines. Most times expedite translations are required, always keeping the best accurate translation results, which sometimes makes us run on the edge in order to offer the best results in the best timelines.
There are also other difficulties depending on each language particularities, like few specialised translators in some language pairs, or lack of good literature and terminology in some other languages…
2. What about the terminology preference of each company?
Some of the most important points is the terminology preferences of each customer. For example, for the term «screening» some customers preferred it translated in one way, other customers translated it in another different way and some other customers prefer to keep it in English. This is a challenge in order to remember all our customers preferences.
3. How important is the translation of this treatment & trial for a company?
For us, even though we are always an invisible part of the complete process for drug marketing, we are very proud when results come and when we see that some of the trials we have been working in the past are now marketed and saving lives. This is a kind of small seed that we sow and that after some time we see it growing and improving lives.
4. How do you describe the contribution & role of Okomeds with its translations to science?
We are a very small company and like that I wouldn’t say that our paper and contribution to science is relevant. However, we help other bigger companies and also other individuals to contribute to science, either translating clinical trials or translating manuscripts, etc. As said before, it is a very small contribution with our seed that it becomes bigger.
